New Wells

Drilling New Wells

Whether the Haitian Water Team was fixing or replacing broken hand pumps or building a village water filtration systems—they constantly heard the same request: "Can you drill us a new well?" Whether it's for a village, a school, or a farming community, the need for clean water is undeniable.

For years, TPM longed to meet this need, but without well-drilling equipment, we simply couldn’t. However, after countless requests and much prayer, we knew it was time to take action. We began exploring the possibility of acquiring a well-drilling rig for Haiti.

One of our board advisors, a professional well driller, was tasked with finding a rig that could be transported by sea container. Before long, he located the perfect trailer-mounted drill rig, and—thanks to generous donors—funding quickly followed. In the summer of 2019, TPM shipped the rig to Haiti, marking a new chapter in our ability to serve.

Upon its arrival in Cap Haitian, a U.S. team traveled to Haiti to train our Haitian Water Team in its operation. Fortunately, Pastor Gelin Joseph, the head of our team, already had some well-drilling experience, making the transition smoother. Together, the U.S. and Haitian teams drilled the first wells, ensuring a solid foundation for the work ahead.

Even amid the challenges of the COVID years, Living Hope Missions drilled more than 20 wells. Since 2023, our Haitian Water Team has drilled an additional 15 new wells, bringing clean drinking water to even more communities.

The demand for new wells hasn’t slowed down, and neither have we. Drilling new wells remains one of our most requested services, and we are committed to answering the call. Every well drilled is another step toward ensuring that Haitian families, students, and farmers have access to the clean water they desperately need.
